ScreenShot of Windows Application

1st Steps:
1.) Start LIBERATOR and follow assistent to the point to set up LIBERATOR for 1st use
Note: You can use the 'PSN CONTENT'-folder from the LIBERATOR's program directory. It's a possible folder structure just for to show you how to get started... Just copy it elsewhere to follow the 'How-To-Use'-Example (see below)
'How-To-Use'-Example:
1.) You need a fully installed, activated and updated PSN-game on your PS3. DLCs could be installed as well (they must be activated)
(
Most likely you already have a such a game on your PS3... else got to PSN-store and buy one)

2.)
Find out the 'GameID' of the game and search in '/dev_hdd0/games/' for a folder with exactly the name of that 'GameID'
Copy that folder to 'PSN CONTENTLOCKEDPSN GAMES'

3.)
Now enter '/dev_hdd0/home/0000000x/exdata/' and search for
a) all '*.rif'-files with the 'GameID' in it's name and copy them to 'PSN CONTENTRIFsRAPs'
b) an '*.edat'-file with the 'GameID' in it's name and copy it to 'PSN CONTENTUNLOCKS'
(Not all games have '*.rif'- AND '*.edat'-files... often games have only one type)
TIP: At 1st time just copy over all RIFs and EDATs you'll find.
4.) Set up in LIBERATORs main menu:
a) 'PSN Game Folder' = 'PSN CONTENTLOCKEDPSN GAMES[GameID]'
b) 'PSN Game Unlock File' = 'PSN CONTENTUNLOCKS****[GameID]****.edat' (only if you've found an *.edat' for your game)

5.) Press Button:
a)'PKG' -> Creates a liberated PKG-File
b)'DISC GAME FOLDER' -> Creates a liberated Disc-Game-Folder
c)'ISO' -> Creates a liberated ISO-File
Important Notes:

  • To get Update-PKGs for each game u can use my PS3 GAME UPDATER
  • Sometimes an additional Unlock-PKG-File will be created. Install it to finally liberate the game. You can 1st try the liberated game without that Unlock-PKG-File installed. Not all games need them. Just try !
  • Not all PSN-games will work when they are converted to disc. It's a matter of TRY & ERROR ! (Sometimes it works without problems, sometimes it doesn't work at all, sometimes with freezes/errors/glitches)
  • The icon ('ICON0.PNG') of every processed content will be saved in '[LIBERATOR Programmverzeichnis]GameIconCache'-folder as '[GameID].PNG'. This will most likely shorten the creation of a 'Bubble'-PKG-Install-Disc with 'Bubble'-Game-Icons.
  • While creating a 'Bubble'-PKG-Install-Disc just drag&drop the PKG-Files, which should be included in the disc.
  • Then arrange them to your likings. Create disc as game-folder or ISO.
  • If you've selected to use 'Bubbles' with game-icons LIBERATOR will 1st search in '[LIBERATOR Programmverzeichnis]GameIconCache' for a '[GameID].PNG'-file. If it's not there it will extract the PKG-file to get the 'ICON0.PNG'. This could take a long time. To avoid this you can add game-icons maunally to 'GameIconCache'. Just name them '[GameID].PNG'.
  • Keep in mind that a 'Bubble'-PKG-Install-Disc can get really big depending on the number of and size of the PKG-Files you've added.
Don't update liberated games online or offline !... else they will be locked again !

reActPSN Beginners guide for 4.xx CFW

First off , I take no responsibility if this causes any damage to your ps3 or gets you banned from PSN , both very unlikely in any case.
Also this is my first attempt at creating a guide and I myself have started using reActPSN just a few days ago so any suggestions/corrections from more experienced members are always welcome.
Thanks to PatrickBatman , godreborn for their insightful posts and gambaa for reActPSN for 4.xx CFW and the original 3.55 tutorial.
This guide is only for people on REBUG 4.21.1/4.21.2/4.30.1 or Rogero 2.03/2.04/2.05 as they already have the patched vsh required to use reActPSN.

Ps2 Placeholder Rap File

reActPSN is an app which can be used to activate / reactivate all your lost PSN content or to activate PSN games posted by other members.
Here are the steps for getting reActPSN up and running on your PS3.
1.Install reActPSN.
You can find reActPSN for 4.xx CFW here.
Install reActPSN but do not run it.
2.You are now ready to activate PSN content.
Create a folder named 'exdata' on the root of your external drive.
Within this folder you must place .rap files for the content you wish to activate.
.rap files are files which activate PSN content without containing any information of the original buyer of the content.
Do not rename the files , paste them in the exdata folder as they are.
Once done , connect your external drive to the right most port on your PS3 (If you get kicked back to the xmb try switching ports).
Do not connect multiple USB devices , only the drive which contains the exdata folder with .rap files.
Create a new user profile on your XMB named aa. The aa profile is required for using reActPSN and run it from the aa profile only.
Rap
Log in to aa profile from the XMB and run reActPSN (no button needs to be pressed if you have only placed .rap files in the exdata folder).
The PS3 will reboot after processing the rap files. This may take a while depending on the number of .rap files.
You may be greeted with a message that your ps3 was not shut down properly upon restart.

Don't panic.This is normal.Press circle to skip.
You will notice that the aa profile has changed/renamed to reActPSN.
This also contains the number of activated rifs and edats.
.rif files are files created from the .rap files by reActPSN to activate the content for your PS3.
Do not use reActPSN profile to run reActPSN.
Create the user profile aa once more to use for activating raps in the future.

After this you will not be required to create this profile again as running reActPSN from the aa profile will not rename it.
So you should have 2 profiles which deal with reActPSN on your XMB :
aa profile which you need to use to run reActPSN and
reActPSN profile which tells you the number of rifs and edats you have activated (and actually stores the rif files for content you have activated).
3.You can now install the pkg file for the content
Now login to your normal profile on the XMB and proceed to Install the pkg file for the content you just activated.
The content you installed should now work.
Also if you are installing dlc which is for a different region than the one of your game , you may need to move it to the appropriate folder in hdd0/game
TIP : To test if reActPSN is working for you , try this theme pack by neociano fromhere
Troubleshooting (Only refer to this if you tried the guide and were unable to activate content)
For

1. I ran reActPSN from the aa profile but it did not restart my ps3.It sent me back to the XMB and now says 'Unknown CFW' on the reActPSN app
Solution:
Rap File For Ps2 Classics Psn
This maybe because reActPSN did not detect your external hard disk.
Ensure that the external hard disk is visible on the XMB (In the Music/Videos/Photo Section) before running reActPSN from the aa profile.
Uninstall reActPSN , reinstall it and try again.
If it still does not work , try switching usb ports and using different usb media.
Also check if your usb drive shows up as dev_usb006 in mM's file manager.
If so , you may need to use a special version of reActPSN instead of the normal one.
Uninstall the old version , download and install the new version and follow the guide from the start.
THIS FIX IS FOR 4.x CFW USERS WHOSE USB DEVICE IS NAMED dev_usb006 ONLY!
Unofficial ReActPSN v2.23b with dev_usb006 fix (Thanks rewtnull) : 2. I followed all the steps but I am unable to activate any content.
I get the following message when I apply a theme installed from the guide
'This theme cannot be used.
You maybe able to use it after you signing in.
sign in with the account that was used to purchase this theme and Select it again.'

Solution:
This problem seems to occur on Rogero's CFW on ps3's which have never been online and do not have a PSN act.dat.
Either switch to rebug or you may need to get a PSN act.dat

If you have not created a PSN account already, do so.
After creating your PSN account , activate your ps3 for this account
On the PS3 XMB , go to the Playstation Network Tab ->Account Management->System Activation->PS3 System
Once your account is activated , go to the PSN Store and download some free content which requires activation.
You do not require to have the game to download the content.
Just before you start to download the content , it will say Activating and then start downloading. If not , try some other content.
This is required to create an act.dat file for your PSN account.
You could try
- Back to the future part 1 trial (100kb).
- GT5 Scion FR-S '12 (game vehicle)
- GT5 Corvette C7 Test Prototype '12 (as above)
- Max Payne 3 Gorilla Warfare Pack (game add-on)
- Max Payne 3 Disorganized Crime Pack (game level)
Now confirm that you have the act.dat file for your PSN account.
Sign out of PSN and Open mM's File Manager .
Browse to hdd0/home/0000000X/exdata (The x indicates the profile number on the system)
You should find an act.dat file in this directory.
Open it by pressing X on it.It should have random numbers and alphabet in hexadecimal form.
This means that you now have the required PSN act.dat file.Back it up on your PC as well.

3. My usb ports are busted and I cannot get reActPSN to detect my external drive. Is there no way I can activate raps ?
Solution:
Since you will be not able to use reActPSN due to your busted usb ports , you could try using rap2rif
You will require a PSN act.dat or a reActPSN act.dat and your console's idps.
